The man wearing white was taken into police custody as he’s being booked.
However, the officer in the video, identified as Franklin Foulks, suddenly collapsed, and it didn’t take long before Jamal Rutledge, the man being booked, jumped up and tried to get attention.
After a short while, they arrived and took care of Foulks. Staff members at Broward Health Medical Center said Rutledge’s decision to act was a mahor reason why Foulks survived.
“I want to write a book”, Rutledge told the Sun Sentinel, “about how people do bad things but they can change their life around.”
Later, he was honored by other officers for saving the man’s life.
